I wanted to quickly say that AKC Scent work is very fun so far!!! For those of you that have never heard of such a thing; AKC Scent work is an accredited form of competition recognized by AKC. I am a member of HVOC (hidden valley obedience club) where they offer scent work as one of the many options of classes to choose from. I have been participating this session with Gavin (10 months old) and Mya (16 weeks old)! They both are loving it. It is a natural behavior for the dogs to use their sense of smell, and it is fun for them to get rewarded for doing this behavior! Read more about scent work on AKCs website, and if you want to learn how to do this with your dog too, come to HVOC or a obedience club near you.
Here are some more pictures from HVOC the other night. These are various types of classes going on in these photos. (Obedience/Rally, Subnovice, and Beginner 1)
