Mission Circuit 2022 is a wrap!

We had a great time at the 4 days of dog shows at the San Bernardino Soccer Complex, and here is the low down on the results:

Day 1, 05/27/22, Friday with the Antelope Valley Kennel Club. Judge Mrs. Sue Bownds awarded "Tin Roof's Chantilly Lace @ Adams Ranch", 1st place, and best of Winners! (Lacy is proudly owned and shown by Brenda Adams of Adam's Ranch ACDs). "Tin Roof's Dash-of-Sass" (Moxie Poo) was awarded 1st place in the bred by exhibitor class, and reserve winners behind her sister's win. "GCH Royal's Greatest Love Story SEN, SCN, SBN, NW1" (GAVIN) was awarded Select dog. Mary La Crosse and her boy, "GCH LNR Rigby's Faster Than a Speeding Bullet" was awarded Best of Breed! Congratulations Mary and Bullet on the win!!!

Day 2, 05/28/22, Saturday, was The Los Encinos Kennel Club, Judge Mr. Sam Houston McDonald awarded "Tin Roof's Chantilly Lace @ Adams Ranch", 1st place, and best of Winners! Moxie Poo "Tin Roof's Dash-of-Sass" was reserve winners, and "GCH Royal's Greatest Love Story ..." was awarded BEST OF BREED/ BOB OWNER HANDLED. Thank you Judge Mr. Sam M. for the honor. Then we got a OWNER-HANDLED GROUP 4, Gavin was awarded in the owner handled herding group by Judge Mrs. Edy Dykstra-Blum. Huge thank you to Mrs. Edy for making it fun! That is what I do this for and what is supposed to be about- FUN.

In other areas of the dog show; we had the delight of having scent work at the Mission Circuit! "GCH Royal's Greatest Love Story..." competed in AKC Advanced level for the first time, on Saturday. Talk about being distracted! Woooooweee. I was able to keep Gavin's nose in the search area, but not so much his attention. We did qualify in adv. containers with all the distraction, and even got 5th place! We did not Q in buried that day.

Day 3, 05/29/22, Sunday, San Gabriel Valley KC, Judge Mrs. Edy Dykstra-Blum awarded Lacy, "Tin Roof's Chantilly Lace @ Adams Ranch", 1st place in the 9-12 puppy bitches. Moxie, "Tin Roof's Dash-of-Sass" 1st place in the bred by exhibitor class, and Best of Winners! "GCH Royal's Greatest Love Story ..." Gavin, was awarded BEST OF BREED/ BOB OWNER HANDLED.

AKC Scentwork day 2- G man Q'd in both elements today! There were also warm up boxes today and I think it may have helped a little bit with the fact that we were about to play a different "game" than going around the ring. I did not feel we were that fast, however, Gavin was SECOND place in Buried, and SECOND place in Containers! What a guy! Gavin and I both improved with this different scenario. Super awesome!

Did someone say SPEED? Mya has a need for speed! FASTCAT at the dog show! Neither Mya or myself have tried FastCat. I figured it could not be that hard to do. So I entered Mya "Tin Roof's Special Edition Namaka SCN, RATO" into the fast cat trial for two runs. The first time she started out unsure but still running after the lure. Then they stopped it and she passed it, and then it passed her, so she was a bit perplexed. Second run, She knew what to do this time, but was not running close to full speed for her. 9.46 seconds is all I know so far for unofficial result. It was fun though so we will do it again.

Day 4, 05/30/22, Monday, MEMORIAL DAY. I would like to make a BIG ShoutOut to Mr. Stephen Cabral and the other members for such a wonderful tribute speech, and presentation of the flag during the national anthem. Thank you.

The Los Encinos KC, Judge Mr. Alan Brown from Canada, awarded "Tin Roof's Chantilly Lace @ Adams Ranch", 1st place in the 9-12 puppy bitches class. "Tin Roof's Dash

-of-Sass" 1st place in the bred by exhibitor class, and Best Opposite Sex for a 3 point major!!! "GCH Royal's Greatest Love Story ..." Gavin, was awarded BEST OF BREED/ BOB OWNER HANDLED. Thank you Mr. Brown. In the herding Variety Group, Judge Mrs. Edy Dykstra-Blum awarded Gavin with a GROUP 4 placement!

The Tin Roof ACD crew did really well amongst the judging panel opinions this weekend. Thank you to all of the judges that awarded my dogs. Prior to attending the show, I was interested in hearing what the Australian judge would have to say about the ACDs here. She commented that we need more bone. My non-dog-show peeps, this does not mean anything to you. I take her comment to heart, and I am in the process of trying to get more bone in my dogs. Not to mention a lot of other things. I am so full of joy and pride over my dogs and their successes. Even if we do not bring home a ribbon, they try their hearts out for me, and I am so blessed for that. Thankful, so very thankful for my other half! Andy, my hubby, is the one that makes all of this happen with me. From feeding, cleaning, and grooming, to staying home for 4 days without a vehicle so I can go to the show. I am so blessed to have obtained a supportive partner that loves my crazy, and our crazy crew. Thanks baby. To my dog show friends, thank you as always, for helping me learn. I appreciate the help, advice, tips, and friendship from all of you. I had the opportunity to briefly show a Peke (Pekinese). What a kick. I love them. I definitely need to practice the handling of a small furrball however. I am just having a blast, and meeting so many people, and new friends. I will try to keep this as up to date as I can with the upcoming events.
