I am so proud of this team! The blood, sweat, heartache, and efforts that go into breeding better dogs is so worth it when I see these smiles! The awards are just a bonus. To get to watch this dog and her humans get out and about trying new fun dog sports together is priceless. My heart is singing so loud! This is why I do this. To see the joy and dedication in the humans when they are partnered with an unstoppable ACD. Brenda has been an ACD breeder for over 25 years, but she had never had the time to get out there and try/compete in dog sports other than conformation shows. To hear the excitement about going to classes, how happy Lacy makes her, and to see the accomplishments, titles, wins, high in trials, and memories made, makes life so special to me. The puppy culture method was the core principles for raising Lacy's litter. She was properly socialized at age appropriate times of her baby puppyhood. Novel items and environmental enrichment, plus additional fun as a baby puppy were initiated at Tin Roof ACD's. That is only the proper beginning however. The most important part is what the new family continues to enrich and introduce to the puppy/dog as they mature. Especially with an ACD. If you quit training and properly advancing your puppy's social skills, your puppy/dog will digress. Brenda and Mike Adams have continued the training and socializing with lacy, and it shines through! She is happy and friendly with other dogs, kids, humans, and will go try anything her mom asks of her.
I rant about training and dedicating time to your ACD puppies when you take them home because you truly do get back from the dogs what you invest into them. Don't let those heelers start running your household based on their own ideas. You will not be happy with their choices. Continue the proper socializing, enrichment and training to end up with the dream Australian cattle dog you are yearning for.
