Puppy assessments

"But I don't want a show dog"

Hello there fellow ACD lovers;

We are excited to welcome professional dog show handler Jessica Baldwin to do the puppy conformation assessments. She will evaluate the skeletal structure, and movement of each puppy. We do this for a professional's opinion about the structure of each puppy. This is important for us as breeders because we want to better our program/puppies. To know where there is something lacking that should be improved upon is crucial. We want to have someone besides us go over the pups. If we are the only ones to go over each puppy, we may not see all of the faults and favors. They call it kennel blindness when you start to see only good in your puppies, and do not point out areas needing improvement. At Tin Roof, we know that there is no "perfect" dog. However, if we continually work harder for improvements in our program, we will have consistency and reliability in our breeding. When you have things you need to work on improving in your lines, it can be difficult. I enjoy continuing my education & skill set. We can always learn something new from others in our area of interest. I truly appreciate having Jessica's help to give insight and educate us further on structure and movement. The structure of anything is what makes it strong. A frame of a house or a skeleton of a human or mammal, and we want to provide that strength in our puppies structure. 😊

So, when you say, "I don't want a show dog", we do not require our puppies to be shown. We will not lower our standards in the quality of puppy we produce even though you may not want to show. You will still have a structurally strong, correct, and showable quality dog. Please try to understand the importance of all the pieces we try to put together to produce the best overall ACD for you. 💖

In our current litter, we have a female available due to one family not quite ready yet to take one home. If you are interested in a puppy from Tin Roof, please fill out the questionnaire on the website. Send an email to follow up if you do not hear back in a day or so.

We are so grateful for all of our ACD lovers out there. Send us your favorite photo pose or trick of your dog or puppy. We love to see your fur babies and you having great times together.
