…& the answer is

EIGHT puppies!

Willow whelped 8 healthy puppies without complications. The 3 males and 5 female babies are eating well, and doing great so far.

I do not have any ideas for a theme name for the litter. :-( If anyone has a suggestion, let me know.

Dam name contains "endless love"

Sire name contains "a cut above"

We are thrilled with this breeding and welcome these little ones with great excitement.

There is a group for the litter on the Wix App. I try posting links and photos of the puppies as time goes on. The app often drops connection and won't load my post, blog, etc. This is really frustrating, and I end up using YouTube and Facebook more frequently due to ease of posting large files. Follow along if you'd like to watch these pups grow. We love to spread smiles and joy through our puppies. Who doesn't smile when they see a puppy video? 💕🥰 I do hope you can spend a few to enjoy some of our media and puppy spam.

We have several reservations submitted for puppies. If you'd like to be considered for a Tin Roof ACD puppy please fill out the puppy applicant questionnaire. Please look at our puppy program details and see how we raise our litters.

Tangent...

We highly encourage everyone interested in a puppy, especially a ACD puppy, to research the breed traits, purpose and function. "Blue Heelers" nip, bite, aka "heel" livestock and argue with bulls for a living. They have to be independent thinkers, and make decisions on their own in certain situations. We (humans) take these traits and put them in a suburban environment, and we typically do not understand the dog's behaviors. Without the proper introduction, desensitization, socialization, and boundaries, your ACD puppy will most likely be training you, and "misbehaving". Understanding what the breed of dog you like is bred to do, helps you understand what they will be like to live with. The Australian Cattle Dog is not an easy breed to raise. ACDs are not a breed for everyone. They are usually misunderstood by humans, and they can be a lot of work to train, mentally stimulate, and manage.

Finding trainers near you that are familiar with cattle dogs is also highly recommended for puppy owners. Puppy class is for fun puppy interaction, and then the 1st grade class is very important for simple basic mannerisms and commands (sit/down).... ACDs breeze through those classes with ease typically. Then on to advanced training (usually training the human how to communicate and understand their dog.

Please try to remember that our dogs, are dogs and we have to be their advocate. They cannot speak for themselves.

If you have questions about the Australian Cattle Dog, you will find a lot of educational and fun links, and articles about them on our website. Please don't hesitate to reach out via email with any questions.

Thanks for reading

Have a great day!
